Software Engineer, AI & Mobile Applications

We're looking for a Software Engineer to help build AI-enabled mobile applications and the systems behind them for insurance agencies and their clients. You'll work with White Glove Technology, our technology team, across mobile experiences, web interfaces, backend services, and agentic workflows.
This is a fully remote role. AI is central to the work: you should be comfortable both building applications that use AI agents and using agentic development tools to ship reliable software. We value demonstrated ability and engineering judgment, with no fixed years-of-experience requirement.
What you'll build
Mobile applications for iOS and Android, including onboarding, policy and document access, and service requests.
AI features and agentic workflows that use tools and APIs to complete useful tasks, with clear permissions and human review where needed.
Backend services, databases, and integrations that support mobile and web experiences.
Production features with authentication, access controls, testing, monitoring, and reliable failure handling.
What we're looking for
Hands-on experience building mobile applications with React Native and Expo, or strong experience with another mobile stack and the ability to learn ours.
Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, with experience in React, backend APIs, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Deep familiarity with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. You can break down work, provide useful context, review generated code, debug problems, and verify results.
A practical understanding of agentic applications, including tool calling, context and memory, workflow orchestration, persistent state, permissions, retries, and human approval boundaries.
Experience evaluating AI behavior and managing unreliable outputs, prompt injection risks, data privacy, latency, and cost.
The ability to take a feature from an early idea through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
Clear communication and the ability to explain what you built, why you made particular decisions, and what still needs work.
Strong pluses
Hackathon wins or standout hackathon projects, especially involving AI agents or mobile applications.
Shipped mobile apps, useful open-source contributions, or independent products with real users.
Experience with Next.js, Supabase, cloud infrastructure, app store releases, or secure document workflows.
We value working software and clear evidence of your contribution. Hackathon experience is a strong plus, and we're equally interested in builders who can show thoughtful, dependable projects developed outside competitions.
