Squad lead

Role Description The Squad Lead is responsible for guiding a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality solutions and services, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations. In this remote contract role, the Squad Lead coordinates daily stand-ups, manages workload distribution, and supports team members in removing delivery obstacles. The position involves close collaboration with stakeholders to clarify requirements, track progress, and report on key metrics, while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. The Squad Lead also coaches the team on best practices, facilitates communication across squads, and contributes to planning and retrospective sessions to improve processes and outcomes.
Qualifications
Leadership and team management skills, including experience guiding cross-functional squads, mentoring team members, and fostering collaboration.
Project and delivery management skills, such as planning, prioritization, coordination of tasks, and progress tracking in agile or similar frameworks.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to align expectations, provide clear updates, and manage remote collaboration.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify risks, remove blockers, and adapt plans to changing requirements.
Experience working in IT services, consulting, or staffing environments is highly beneficial.
Comfort with remote work tools and digital collaboration platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Business, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
Prior experience as a squad lead, team lead, project lead, or similar role in a distributed or international setting is a strong advantage.
