### Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced **Data Engineer / Data Architect** with 14–19 years of experience and strong expertise in **GCP and Scala**. The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions and providing technical leadership across enterprise data engineering initiatives.
### Key Responsibilities
* Design and architect **scalable, reliable, and high-performance data engineering solutions** on GCP.
* Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-grade data platforms and pipelines.
* Develop and optimize large-scale data processing solutions using **Scala**.
* Work extensively with **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** services to build modern data solutions.
* Define data architecture, data flow, integration patterns, and technical standards.
* Design robust **ETL/ELT pipelines** and data processing frameworks.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
* Conduct technical evaluations and recommend appropriate GCP services and data technologies.
* Ensure solutions meet requirements related to **performance, scalability, security, reliability, and cost optimization**.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data engineering teams.
* Review architecture and code to ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
* Identify and resolve complex technical and performance challenges.
* Drive modernization and migration of legacy data platforms to cloud-based architectures.
* Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technology roadmaps.
### Required Skills
* **14–19 years of experience** in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or related technology roles.
* Strong hands-on experience with **GCP / Google Cloud Platform**.
* Strong programming experience in **Scala**.
* Strong understanding of **Data Engineering and Data Architecture principles**.
* Expertise in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and distributed data processing solutions.
* Strong knowledge of **ETL/ELT, data integration, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts**.
* Experience working with large-scale data processing and cloud-based data platforms.
* Strong understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, security, and performance optimization.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
* Proven experience providing technical leadership at an **Architect/Senior Architect level**.
### Preferred Skills
* Experience with GCP data services such as **BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Composer**.
* Experience with **Apache Spark** and distributed data processing.
* Knowledge of data lake, data warehouse, and modern cloud data architecture patterns.
* Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud security practices.
* Experience in cloud migration and modernization projects.
* Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
