Role Description The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support the design, improvement, and documentation of manufacturing processes for MedevPlus OCT systems and components. This is an internship role based on-site in Bengaluru, where the intern will assist in process optimization, tooling and fixture development, and production line setup for mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with senior engineers to analyze workflow efficiency, preparing process instructions and standard operating procedures, and participating in root-cause analysis for production issues. The intern will help coordinate with cross-functional teams such as design, quality, and supply chain to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role may also involve data collection, basic testing, and reporting to support continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Processes, with the ability to understand and improve production workflows.
Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, including mechanics, materials, and basic design for manufacturability.
Familiarity with Industrial Engineering concepts such as workflow optimization, time studies, and layout planning.
Exposure to Machining operations and related shop practices, including safe use of basic machine tools.
Pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Ability to read engineering drawings and use basic CAD tools; experience with 3D modeling software is an advantage.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the willingness to learn in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
