Role Description The Legal Expert - Power Transmission will provide legal support and guidance for power transmission projects and related operations in Jharkhand, India. This full-time, on-site role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings associated with transmission infrastructure. The role includes advising project teams on legal risks, power sector regulations, land acquisition matters, and compliance with applicable laws and standards. The Legal Expert will coordinate with internal stakeholders, external counsels, and government agencies to resolve legal issues and support dispute avoidance and resolution. Daily responsibilities also include monitoring regulatory changes in the power sector, preparing legal opinions and reports, and ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with organizational policies.
Mandatory Requirement : Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) with experience of minimum 3 years in handling legal corporate/Aptel/Regulatory/CERC matters related to Power Sector.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated experience handling power sector or infrastructure-related Legal Issues.
Proficiency in Legal Consulting, including regulatory advisory and project-related legal support.
Experience in Legal Document Preparation, such as contracts, MOUs, notices, and compliance documentation.
Effective Communication skills, including the ability to present legal positions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); a Master’s degree (LL.M) or specialization in energy or infrastructure law is an advantage.
Prior experience working on power transmission or large infrastructure projects, preferably in India.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment under time constraints.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with government authorities and regulatory bodies.
Familiarity with Indian electricity laws, land acquisition regulations, and contractual frameworks in the power sector is highly beneficial.
