Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Design & Engineering Engineer (Mechanical) to join our engineering team. The selected candidate will be responsible for product design, engineering development, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. The role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with technical and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analyze technical specifications, project requirements, and design inputs received from internal stakeholders.
2. Develop product concepts, engineering layouts, and detailed designs based on project requirements.
3. Prepare and review 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
4. Perform engineering calculations, design validation, and feasibility studies.
5. Coordinate with procurement and manufacturing teams to optimize design for cost, manufacturability, and performance.
6. Participate in prototype development, assembly, testing, and design verification activities.
7. Provide technical support during manufacturing, inspection, testing, and field trials.
8. Identify design improvements and implement corrective actions based on test results and operational feedback.
9. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
10. Maintain and update engineering documents, design records, and revision-controlled data.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project management for timely project execution.
12. Continuously improve product performance, reliability, and engineering processes.
13. Ensure project milestones and engineering deliverables are completed within the targeted timelines. 14. Travel to customer locations, vendor facilities, and project sites as required for technical discussions, design reviews, installation support, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and field trials.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Minimum 4+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
3. Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modelling (SolidWorks) and engineering drawings.
4. Experience in product design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support.
5. Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards.
6. Experience in hydraulic systems will be an added advantage.
7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and engineering calculation skills.
8. Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple engineering activities.
9. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
10. Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
11. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across different departments.
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
13. Ability to handle both routine engineering tasks and complex design assignments.
14. Willingness to travel extensively for site visits, customer interactions, inspections, testing activities, and project execution support.
