We’re looking for a organized, tech-savvy, and resourceful Stage & Technical Assistant to join us for an exciting live ballet production in Sofia! If you love live performance, tech-infused costumes, and making backstage magic happen smoothly, we want to hear from you!
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
Type: Freelance / Project-based
Languages: Bulgarian & English
What You'll Do:
Coordinate the Team: Keep sound/light technicians and artists perfectly synced during the show.
Tech Rehearsals: Work alongside the technicians during rehearsals (no design or cueing required!).
Stage & Dance Floor Setup: Help lay down the dance floor (Marley) and set up scenic elements with the support crew.
Production Operations: Partner with the Producer to manage all technical operations on-site.
Quick Troubleshooting: Solve minor tech issues during preparation and live showtime.
Show Wrap-Up: Maintain workspace cleanliness and update the equipment inventory after every performance.
What We're Looking For:
Hard Skills & Stage Experience
Stagecraft Mastery: knowledge of backstage etiquette, show flow, and timing stage entries.
Dance Floor Setup: Hands-on experience laying, taping, and packing up Marley/Harlequin dance floors safely.
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with basic stage lighting, sound systems, and tech terminology.
Soft Skills:
Detail-Oriented: Strict attention to pre-show checklists (battery charging schedules, LED costume tests, voltage checks).
Calm Under Pressure: Cool-headed problem solver when quick fixes are needed backstage (e.g., swapping a faulty battery pack seconds before an entry!).
Great Communicator: Friendly and clear coordination with artists, the Producer, and local crew.
Hands-On & Flexible: Physical stamina for setup/teardown and flexibility for evening/weekend show hours.
Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have):
Wearable Tech Basics: Basic understanding of low-voltage electronics (LEDs, battery packs, loose cables) to run quick fixes.
Dance / Touring Background: Prior experience with dance companies, physical theater, or touring productions!
