Lead Tenable Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Tenable Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.
This role will guide a modernization-focused technical team responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying cybersecurity infrastructure and automation solutions. The position blends hands-on engineering leadership with deep vulnerability management, Linux, cloud, and container platform experience in support of enterprise and government stakeholders.
You will collaborate across technical teams to improve system efficiency, investigate root causes, and deliver reliable solutions that strengthen operational performance and platform resilience.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $105,100 – $231,100 annually
Responsibilities
Manage a modernization team's technical engineers to complete design, build, test, and deployment tasks.
Develop and maintain vulnerability management solutions focused on Azure, Red Hat Linux, and scripting.
Contribute to the Project Integrated Master Schedule alongside engineering leadership.
Identify and implement technical improvements and efficiencies.
Conduct investigations to ascertain root causes of technical issues.
Create topology and flow diagrams with technical colleagues.
Develop presentation material for internal teams and stakeholders.
Automate scripts and enhance code efficiency.
Maintain enterprise Red Hat Linux with RHEL Satellite and Ansible integrations.
Deploy and sustain Kubernetes containers in Azure and VMware.
Qualifications
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
15+ years of relevant experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for 5 years of experience.
10+ years of experience with ACAS solutions; Tenable preferred, with a minimum of 7 years of direct experience.
5+ years of experience deploying, automating, and hardening Red Hat Linux OS.
3+ years of experience with DevOps tools and automation.
2+ years of experience with Kubernetes in an enterprise environment.
Excellent communication skills with DAF stakeholders.
