Principal Cloud Engineer Azure

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer Azure to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will lead the design and operation of a modern Azure cloud platform that supports internal development teams and broader technology delivery. You will be responsible for building secure, scalable shared services and establishing the governance and operating standards that enable reliable cloud adoption. The position partners closely with engineering teams to standardize platform capabilities, improve automation, and strengthen delivery across environments.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $100,000 – $220,000 annually
Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate Azure cloud infrastructure and shared platform services
Implement and maintain Azure landing zones and governance structures
Build Azure PaaS, containers, and managed services as reusable platform capabilities
Apply DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD and monitoring
Automate environment provisioning and configuration across environments
Partner with engineering teams to provide standardized Azure platform capabilities
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering leadership, or infrastructure roles
Proven experience delivering and operating Azure environments
Experience designing and implementing large-scale Azure platforms
Experience building foundational cloud platform capabilities for internal development teams
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
