For our client, we are seeking a Senior Context Fusion AI Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.
This role will focus on designing and advancing multimodal AI systems that fuse diverse sensor inputs into robust 3D and 4D world representations for autonomous driving. The position plays a key part in translating research breakthroughs into scalable production systems that improve safety, reliability, and performance in complex real-world scenarios. You will collaborate closely with teams across research, engineering, and deployment to build models, pipelines, and tools that support next-generation autonomous vehicle capabilities.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $184,000 – $356,500 annually
Responsibilities
Design and develop multimodal sensor-fusion systems for 3D and 4D world representation
Build architectures for reasoning over diverse sensor inputs, including calibration and uncertainty handling
Develop multi-task models that generate driving-relevant outputs from shared representations
Create scalable multimodal fusion architectures using Transformer-based techniques
Establish training and evaluation pipelines for large-scale multimodal datasets
Investigate foundation-model approaches for autonomous vehicle challenges and efficient model deployment
Collaborate across teams to translate research advances into production-quality autonomous vehicle systems
Develop analysis and debugging tools for model performance and scenario handling
Qualifications
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2+ years in the AV or robotics industry and 2+ years in a leadership role
Strong background in production-quality sensor fusion and autonomous-driving systems
Proven experience with learning-based multimodal perception or fusion using multiple sensor inputs
Solid grasp of 3D geometry, calibration, and sensor failure modes
Hands-on expertise in deep learning for 3D perception and semantic segmentation
Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience in PyTorch and related software tools
