Staff AI Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Staff AI Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.
This role will help shape and scale AI and machine learning capabilities that support healthcare outcomes across the organization. The ideal candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to design practical, high-performing solutions that improve data-driven decision-making and operational effectiveness. You will lead the development of ML systems, data pipelines, and validation approaches while helping ensure responsible use of data and compliance with healthcare privacy requirements.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $106,605 – $260,590 annually
Responsibilities
Drive the development of machine learning models to solve healthcare problems
Collaborate with departments to define projects and prioritize initiatives
Define performance metrics for machine learning model testing and validation
Design and implement efficient machine learning systems and data pipelines
Advise on optimizing data pipelines and model training processes
Present technical findings to stakeholders for application in healthcare
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data privacy regulations
Qualifications
7+ years in large-scale software development
5+ years of solution architecture or system design experience
5+ years building large-scale microservices and APIs using Node.js
3+ years of hands-on experience with GCP and AWS
Proficiency in AWS Bedrock or GCP Vertex AI technologies
Strong communication and leadership skills
Experience with Python for AI and ML engineering
