Software Engineering Manager (Java)

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Java) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This leader will oversee engineering execution for enterprise applications with a strong emphasis on Java-based development and modern cloud-native architecture.
The role will partner closely with architects, product stakeholders, and agile teams to translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions.
It will also support team development, continuous improvement, and the evolution of technology practices that improve operational outcomes.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $120,000 – $193,725 annually
Responsibilities
Lead mentoring and coaching activities to foster engineering best practices
Participate in product discovery and strategic planning, translating objectives into technology solutions
Develop engineering teams through performance feedback and growth opportunities
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives and accountability
Collaborate with architects to evolve the technical roadmap of claims operations
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in software engineering and leading agile teams for enterprise applications
Strong expertise in modern software architecture, microservices, and cloud-native applications
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot frameworks for software development
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines and engineering processes
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
