Senior Backend Engineer, Platform Enablement

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer, Platform Enablement to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on building backend platforms and internal tools that improve performance testing, analysis, and developer workflows. You will partner closely with engineering teams to create scalable self-service capabilities that make performance validation easier to adopt across the software lifecycle. The work also includes applying AI-enabled approaches to streamline implementation and testing, while helping transform early consulting efforts into durable platform capabilities.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $156,800 – $235,200 annually
Responsibilities
Build and enhance backend platforms and tools dedicated to performance testing and analysis.
Develop self-service workflows and documentation to empower teams.
Leverage AI to streamline implementation and testing processes.
Encourage integration of performance testing into routine development cycles.
Transform initial consulting engagements into scalable capabilities for widespread adoption.
Provide expert guidance on performance challenges and tool enhancements.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in backend or platform software development.
Proven background in building internal platforms or developer-oriented tools.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineering teams to enhance workflows.
Familiarity with AI-driven development practices applied across software lifecycles.
Strong knowledge of performance optimization, analysis, and benchmarking.
Hands-on experience with cloud services like AWS or GCP and tools like Kubernetes and k6.
Effective communicator capable of influencing teams without direct authority.
