For our client, we are seeking a Site Reliability Engineering Team Lead (Principal SRE) to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.
This role will guide a high-performing SRE function responsible for reliability, incident response, and operational excellence across critical production environments. You will set technical direction, mentor the team, and partner closely with development teams to strengthen production readiness and service stability. The position also plays a key role in defining standards, improving observability, and driving automation to support customer-facing availability commitments.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Responsibilities
Lead the Site Reliability Engineering team by providing technical direction, coaching, and mentoring
Own the reliability roadmap for upcoming quarters
Define and manage SLI/SLO standards for customer program availability
Serve as Tier 2 escalation for major incidents and manage high-stakes situations
Promote and implement a blameless postmortem culture for incident management
Improve production readiness by collaborating with development teams
Drive metrics, automation, observability, and CI/CD strategies
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in site reliability, DevOps, or cloud roles, including leadership experience
Ability to set technical direction and uphold standards across teams
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Istio
Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud platforms
Knowledge of observability tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana
Proficiency in CI/CD practices using Terraform or Flux
Strong scripting skills in Python or Go
Excellent communication skills in English
