Product Manager - Data Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Product Manager - Data Platform to join the team of a leader in the Media space.
This role will own the strategy and evolution of the company's data catalog and metadata capabilities, helping internal teams discover, understand, and use data more effectively. You will partner closely with engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders to prioritize high-impact problems and deliver platform improvements that support better decision-making. The position also calls for a thoughtful approach to AI-driven changes in the data landscape, with an emphasis on adoption, business impact, and user experience.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually
Responsibilities
Develop and own the product strategy for the company's data catalog and metadata
Diagnose and understand the needs of the company's data community
Identify and prioritize high-impact problems while balancing competing considerations
Evaluate and deliver solutions through building or integrating third-party products
Define success metrics that measure adoption and business impact
Build relationships with internal teams to understand workflows and shape platform investments
Collaborate with engineering, design, and data partners to deliver quality platform experiences
Influence stakeholders around product direction and priorities
Qualifications
2+ years of Product Management experience on platform products or data governance systems
Technical background in Computer Science or Engineering
Experience engaging in technical discussions with engineers
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across various teams
Strong systems-thinking skills connecting workflows and business outcomes
Empathy for users working with data and understanding their challenges
Curiosity about AI's impact on the data landscape
