Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Coder role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. The Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, assigning appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensuring coding accuracy in accordance with regulatory, payer, and hospital guidelines. Daily tasks include validating medical records, updating coding information in health information systems, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to clarify documentation. The role also involves supporting claims submission, minimizing coding-related denials, and participating in internal audits, training, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Medical Coding skills and solid Coding Experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management principles.
Candidates should possess relevant credentials such as RHIT or equivalent certification in health information or medical coding.
Candidates should possess familiarity with coding standards and classification systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS) and regulatory compliance requirements.
Candidates should possess proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software.
Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work with confidential information responsibly.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative teams.
Diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or a related healthcare field is preferred.
