Executive Underwriter, Commercial Surety

For our client, we are seeking a Executive Underwriter, Commercial Surety to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will focus on evaluating surety opportunities, balancing credit quality, profitability, and growth across an assigned book of business.
The Executive Underwriter will partner closely with producers and internal stakeholders to strengthen relationships, assess risk, and support sound underwriting decisions.
The position also includes ongoing account monitoring, submission preparation, and contributions to broader team initiatives.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $100,000+ annually
Responsibilities
Gather and analyze information to support accurate credit quality evaluations
Develop and maintain relationships with producers while cultivating new business relationships
Manage a book of business to meet profitability objectives and identify new opportunities
Continuously monitor accounts to ensure compliance and recommend corrective actions
Prepare underwriting submissions and make decisions within established limits
Assist with additional projects as requested by the Regional Leader
Qualifications
Minimum of three years of surety underwriting experience or equivalent surety-related experience required
AFSB designation preferred
Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
Quick learner with a proactive attitude toward new challenges
Proficient in Microsoft Office software products
