Maintenance Engineer – Contract

We are looking for experienced Maintenance Engineers / Technicians to support an automated industrial environment in Ireland.
The role will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting automated material-handling and industrial equipment, ensuring systems remain operational and downtime is minimised.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on automated equipment and machinery.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and electromechanical faults.
Troubleshoot conveyors, motors, sensors, drives and other automated equipment.
Support fault-finding on PLC-controlled systems and automation equipment.
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimise operational downtime.
Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
Identify recurring faults and assist with implementing corrective actions.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completed work.
Follow all site health & safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Work collaboratively with operations, engineering and other technical teams.
Experience & Skills
Essential:
Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Service Engineer or similar.
Strong electromechanical maintenance experience.
Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability.
Experience working with industrial machinery and automated equipment.
Ability to diagnose faults systematically and work independently.
Good understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance.
Desirable:
Experience with warehouse automation or intralogistics.
Experience maintaining conveyor systems and material-handling equipment.
PLC fault-finding experience, ideally with Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar.
Experience with robotics, automated storage systems, sortation or other automated systems.
Experience with motors, VFDs/drives, sensors, photoeyes and control panels.
Previous experience in high-volume distribution, logistics or manufacturing environments.
Working Hours
Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for practical, hands-on engineers who are comfortable working in a fast-paced automated environment and can quickly diagnose and resolve both electrical and mechanical issues.
Candidates with backgrounds in warehouse automation, logistics automation, robotics, conveyors, material handling or industrial maintenance are particularly relevant.
