Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Basti. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems and rolling stock components, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with maintenance teams, performing diagnostics on equipment, and implementing improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency. The role involves participating in projects related to upgrades, overhauls, and modernization, as well as documenting technical work and reporting on performance metrics. Collaboration with engineering, operations, and quality teams is essential to support timely project execution and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals and applied skills in mechanical systems.
Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for developing and reviewing mechanical components and assemblies.
Candidates should possess Project Management abilities to plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering and maintenance activities.
Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) skills to support innovation, performance optimization, and problem-solving.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to safety and regulatory compliance.
Effective communication and teamwork skills for working with cross-functional railway departments.
Experience in railways, heavy machinery, or industrial maintenance is an advantage.
