Government Contracts Project Manager

AlphaGov wins and delivers government classification, compensation, and workforce projects. We need a Project Manager to run contracts after award, with ownership of delivery rather than proposal or capture work.
The Project Manager will lead kickoff, schedule, workplan, risk tracking, SME coordination, client meetings, deliverables, invoicing coordination, status reporting, and closeout. Pre-award packaging and capture remain with the operations team; this role is focused on reliable post-award execution and client outcomes.
You will coordinate municipal, state, federal, and education stakeholders; maintain clear decision logs; manage dependencies and risks; organize quality reviews; and ensure that written deliverables are complete, timely, and aligned with contract requirements. The role is remote-first with occasional travel for client meetings or project needs. Familiarity with public-sector contracting norms, SAM and UEI concepts, and vendor coordination is valuable. PMP or equivalent experience is a plus but not required.
Requirements
Proven project management experience on government or public-sector contracts, including municipal, state, federal, or education clients.
Strong client communication, schedule management, risk control, issue escalation, and coordination of vendors and subject-matter experts.
Experience running post-award kickoffs, workplans, status meetings, deliverable reviews, invoicing coordination, and contract closeout.
Familiarity with public-sector contracting norms; SAM and UEI familiarity is a plus.
Comfortable with remote-first delivery and occasional travel for client meetings or project needs.
PMP or equivalent project leadership experience is a plus but not required. This is a delivery role, not proposal or capture work.
