About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
KAEM is looking for an experienced Embedded Hardware & Firmware Engineer to support the development of a professional embedded communication system.
The role will involve both electronic hardware development and embedded firmware development, from schematic and PCB design through prototype bring-up, debugging, and system integration.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across both hardware and firmware and be able to take ownership of a product from engineering design through a working prototype.
Responsibilities
Review and refine system architecture and hardware requirements
Design complete electronic schematics
Develop multilayer PCB layouts using Altium Designer or equivalent tools
Design embedded systems using high-performance microcontrollers
Integrate external memory, digital audio, displays, wireless communication modules, sensors, and peripheral interfaces
Design power-supply, protection, filtering, reset, clock, and debug circuitry
Develop embedded firmware in C/C++
Develop firmware using an RTOS such as FreeRTOS
Implement low-level drivers for UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, PCM, TDM, GPIO, USB, Ethernet, and similar interfaces
Develop real-time audio communication and routing functions
Implement state machines, device control, watchdogs, fault recovery, and system diagnostics
Develop touchscreen/HMI applications using embedded GUI frameworks such as LVGL
Integrate wireless communication modules and external embedded devices
Perform prototype board bring-up and hardware debugging
Debug firmware and hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers, and other laboratory equipment
Optimize the system for reliability, low latency, EMI/EMC, thermal performance, and power integrity
Prepare designs for PCB fabrication and PCBA manufacturing
Support prototype testing, design revisions, and production release
Maintain clear technical documentation, source code, schematics, PCB files, and test procedures
