Line Leader (Glass Manufacturing)

The Line Leader (Glass Manufacturing) is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of a production line in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role drives safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance while leading continuous improvement initiatives and developing a high-performing team culture.
The Line Leader (Glass Manufacturing) WILL:
Lead and coordinate production, maintenance, quality, and support teams to achieve operational goals.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, GMP, and audit requirements.
Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
Partner with shift leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency across all shifts.
Support employee development, training, and team engagement.
Lead problem-solving efforts and process improvement projects to optimize plant operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and labor agreements.
The Line Leader (Glass Manufacturing) SHOULD HAVE:
Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving techniques.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving operational performance.
Excellent communication, coaching, and team-building skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience will be considered.
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; glass manufacturing experience preferred.
Project Management and/or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and flow manufacturing principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using manufacturing and business systems such as SAP and other production, quality, or workforce management systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive operational improvements.
Demonstrated ability to lead change and support organizational transformation initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate employees in a team-oriented environment
