About the role
We are looking for a Firmware and Software Engineer with solid embedded development experience.
You will contribute throughout the entire software development cycle of our products, from early ideas, architecture and prototyping through to firmware development, testing, release, maintenance and future improvements.
Your main focus will be firmware development. Depending on the project, you will also contribute to our desktop applications, plug-ins, audio synthesis engine, configuration tools and update systems.
You will work closely with our Product, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering leads. The role comes with a high level of autonomy, while remaining part of an agile and collaborative workflow in which decisions are shared across disciplines.
Your responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain firmware for our products
Help define features and software architectures
Develop prototypes and validate technical solutions
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
Improve an existing codebase while keeping it reliable and maintainable
Contribute to other software layers of our products
Improve our build, deployment and update processes
Suggest technical and product improvements
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems and building software that will last.
Required skills and experience
Significant experience in firmware or embedded software development
Excellent C/C++ skills
Experience with microcontrollers, ideally STM32 or Raspberry Pi Pico
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Ability to design reliable and maintainable software
Ability to work independently, with a structured and thorough approach
Technical curiosity and a proactive mindset
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
Professional proficiency in either French or English
A degree in computer science, electronics or a related field would be appreciated, but equivalent professional experience will be considered just as seriously.
Valued skills
Experience or an interest in one or more of the following would be a plus:
JUCE
Web Audio API or Web MIDI API
Cross-platform software development
Desktop applications and audio plug-ins
Configuration tools and update systems
Electronic musical instrument design
Making music or a strong interest in music technology
You do not need to be familiar with the entire stack from day one. What matters most to us is your embedded development experience, your ability to learn and your interest in understanding the product as a whole.
How we use AI
AI tools and coding agents are part of our development workflow. We encourage their use when they help speed up exploration, development or debugging.
However, we are looking for someone who can understand, challenge, test and maintain the code produced with these tools.
For us, AI is a productivity tool, not a substitute for technical understanding.
