Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thiruvananthapuram Taluk for a Senior Civil & Structural CAD Designer Team Lead – Drafting & Design Coordination. The role involves leading a drafting and design team, coordinating civil and structural CAD work, and ensuring that construction and design drawings meet project standards and regulatory requirements. The team lead will review and finalize detailed drawings, support design engineers with drawing production, and maintain drawing registers and documentation. Daily activities include assigning drafting tasks, checking drawing accuracy and consistency, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and resolving design and drafting issues. The role also requires mentoring junior designers, implementing CAD standards and workflows, and supporting quality assurance for all design deliverables.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Technical Drawing for civil and structural projects.
Ability to produce and interpret Construction Drawings and general Drawing documentation for buildings and infrastructure.
Experience in Design Engineering for civil and structural systems, including coordination between design intent and drafted outputs.
Prior experience leading drafting or design teams, with proven coordination and supervision capabilities.
Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and familiarity with BIM workflows is an advantage.
Solid understanding of relevant building codes, standards, and construction practices.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders.
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, with substantial experience in drafting and design.
Experience working in consultancy or construction environments in the Middle East or India is beneficial.
