Sr. Vice President - OSP Engineering & Construction

Lumos is scaling our fiber network across a growing footprint, and we're looking for a Senior Vice President of OSP Engineering & Construction to play a critical role in leading that expansion. With an established team and successful build program already in place, this is an opportunity to lead at scale while helping Lumos continue expanding its fiber network into new markets and communities.
We're looking for a servant leader with deep fiber overbuild experience who can bring both strategic perspective and operational discipline to the role. You'll lead an experienced team of regional OSP leaders, drive our construction and engineering objectives, support new market launches, and develop key relationships with municipalities, contractors, and vendors. Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to build on what's working, empower a talented team, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of Lumos.
This position is open to candidates located within the Lumos footprint, with a preference for the Eastern or Central time zones. Travel will be up to 50% initially, with ongoing travel of roughly 25 to 50%.

What You'll Do
Provide strategic leadership for Lumos' OSP Engineering & Construction organization, ensuring successful execution of monthly and annual fiber build objectives.
Lead and support a team of regional OSP Vice Presidents by fostering accountability, collaboration, and servant leadership while empowering teams to operate successfully.
Oversee engineering and construction performance, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company objectives.
Manage capital expenditures by monitoring project performance, forecasting needs, and ensuring responsible budget stewardship.
Drive the successful launch of new fiber markets by partnering with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to establish agreements, construction readiness, and deployment plans.
Establish and strengthen partnerships with local municipalities, engaging directly with community and market leaders to support successful fiber deployment and address key market needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with construction partners, contractors, and vendors to support continued growth and scalability.
Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence across all engineering and construction activities.
Monitor performance using internal reporting tools and construction dashboards to ensure schedule accuracy, quality, and overall program health.
Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning, operational improvements, and long-term network expansion initiatives.

Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong understanding of OSP engineering, fiber construction methodologies, permitting, scheduling, and contractor management.
Experience using construction management and GIS platforms such as 3GIS, ESRI, or similar technologies.
Adept at cultivating relationships and influencing key stakeholders, including municipalities, community leaders, and other external partners.
Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly evolving organization while maintaining focus on execution and results.
What Makes You a Great Fit
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Outside Plant Engineering and Construction.
Executive leadership experience managing large-scale fiber deployment programs.
Extensive direct experience within a fiber overbuild organization.
Experience managing capital budgets, contractor performance, and large-scale deployment schedules.
Proven success building strong partnerships with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional business leaders.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
Frequent travel, walking, and standing at active construction sites in varying weather and on uneven terrain.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and appropriate safety footwear.
Regular use of computers and standard office equipment, along with the communication and judgment needed to inspect work and coordinate field activity.
