Role Description The Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake & GCP (Remote) role is a contract position responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures on Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing ETL processes, implementing data warehousing solutions, and ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance across various data assets. The role involves collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data models and analytical datasets. The Senior Data Engineer will also monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, implement best practices for security and governance, and contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering standards in a remote, distributed environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Engineering, including building scalable data pipelines and working with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake and GCP.
Candidates should possess solid Data Modeling and Data Warehousing skills to design, optimize, and maintain analytical and operational data structures.
Candidates should possess experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including development, orchestration, and performance tuning.
Candidates should possess Data Analytics skills to support reporting, dashboards, and insight generation for business stakeholders.
Experience with SQL, Python or other programming languages commonly used in data engineering, and familiarity with version control and CI/CD practices.
Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments, including role-based access and data privacy considerations.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Prior experience in a senior or lead data engineering role and exposure to large-scale, enterprise data environments is highly beneficial.
