Job Description
Doral is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Project Management team. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this role will manage the execution of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from the start of execution through commercial operation. This is a remote position with travel to project sites of up to 25% as business needs require.
Responsibilities
Support the EPC selection process, contract execution, including exhibits, and management of EPC contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
Take ownership of project performance as it relates to safety, quality, schedule, budget, environmental compliance, and community relationships.
Select and coordinate the site management team and provide oversight of construction through commercial operation.
Interface with the owner’s engineer, interconnection utility, EPC contractor, and other stakeholders to facilitate the design review process.
Support monthly invoice review, drawdown processes, and project finance requirements.
Oversee third-party QA/QC processes, factory acceptance testing, shipping, deliveries, and related activities for owner-supplied equipment.
Support Independent Engineer due diligence efforts prior to notice to proceed (NTP) and through commercial operation.
Coordinate with utilities and other stakeholders regarding backup power, crossing agreements, ISP connections, and other project requirements.
Facilitate the transition of projects to Operations & Maintenance and Asset Management following commercial operation date (COD).
Manage supply contracts, including high-voltage equipment and module supply agreements, as applicable.
Maintain project schedules, budgets, risk tracking, documentation, and stakeholder communications to support timely project execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
5+ years of construction management or project management experience in the energy sector, preferably within renewable energy and with a developer, EPC contractor, owner’s engineer, or independent engineer.
Experience managing utility-scale solar and/or BESS projects through construction and commercial operation preferred.
Strong understanding of EPC contracts, project schedules, budgets, quality, safety, and construction risk management.
Ability to coordinate effectively with engineering, construction, finance, utilities, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
