As a Senior Transport Modeller, you will apply and expand your expertise across advanced modelling, analytics, GIS and project delivery while collaborating with experienced specialists and contributing to the evolution of industry-leading modelling practices.
As a Senior Transport Modeller in the Transport Analysis Unit, you will use your technical expertise to support integrated transport and land use planning and help inform transport policy and investment decisions across Queensland.
Working with multidisciplinary teams and a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will develop and apply transport models, undertake independent modelling assurance and provide clear, practical technical advice. You will also contribute to traffic and travel data collection activities and manage transport modelling and analysis projects.
Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include
reviewing and evaluating transport modelling undertaken for programs and projects and providing independent comments and recommendations in line with the TMR Transport Modelling Application Framework.
developing and using key TMR transport models, primarily using EMME, AIMSUN and Python.
providing specialist advice on transport modelling during project planning and scoping.
contributing technical input to data collection activities, including household travel surveys and census-year traffic surveys.
managing the procurement and delivery of traffic modelling and analysis projects.
maintaining contemporary knowledge of transport modelling tools, methods and emerging practices.
Requirements Of The Role
Demonstrated experience in transport modelling and analysis to support planning and investment decisions.
Ability to analyse complex data and provide practical, evidence-based advice and recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and stakeholder advice.
Proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Experience delivering projects and managing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Experience with transport modelling, GIS, data analytics and/or programming tools will be highly regarded.

Highly Desirable Qualifications And Conditions
It is preferred that you have a degree from a recognised tertiary institution in engineering, data science, geospatial science, information technology, mathematics, economics or an equivalent qualification.
