Head of Developer Relations

ABOUT THE ROLE
Factory is looking for a deeply technical, high-agency Head of Developer Relations to define how developers discover, understand, and build with Factory.
Will continue building Factory’s trusted voice in AI-powered software development. You will own the end-to-end developer relationship, from technical education and engage with community programs to product feedback and developer adoption.
This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Marketing, and the developer community. The right person can move fluidly between writing code, setting strategy, creating exceptional content, and representing Factory onstage and online (ex: conference talks, developer events, presentation, etc.)
WHAT YOU WILL DO AND ACHIEVE
- Define and lead Factory’s developer relations strategy across technical content, community, events, partnerships, and social channels.
- Become a visible external voice for Factory through LinkedIn, X, conferences, podcasts, livestreams, and developer communities.
- Build practical technical resources, including tutorials, demos, sample applications, reference implementations, documentation, and case studies.
- Show developers how Droids improve real software development workflows and reduce the time required to experience Factory’s value.
- Build an active, self-sustaining community of developers who learn from one another, share their work, and advocate for Factory.
- Develop relationships with influential developers, open-source maintainers, AI companies, research groups, and technology partners.
- Design and execute workshops, meetups, hackathons, launch programs, and conference activations.
- Establish a strong feedback loop between developers and Factory’s Product and Engineering teams.
- Monitor shifts in AI, developer tools, and software engineering, then use those insights to keep Factory relevant and differentiated.
- Advocate internally for developer-first decisions across the product, documentation, onboarding, and developer experience.
- Define and report on measures of success, including developer adoption, engagement, content performance, community health, and product feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Significant experience in developer relations, developer education, product management, software engineering, or technical leadership.
- Deep technical credibility and the ability to build, demo, and explain modern software development workflows.
- A respected presence in the developer community and a track record of producing content developers trust and share.
- Experience building and scaling developer communities, programs, or ecosystems.
- Strong familiarity with AI-assisted development, coding agents, developer tools, open source, and emerging engineering practices.
- The ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling narratives.
- Exceptional written, verbal, on-camera, and public-speaking skills.
- Strong product instincts and experience working closely with Engineering and Product teams.
- A metrics-driven approach to developer adoption and community investment.
- High agency and the ability to build a function in a fast-moving environment with limited structure.
- A genuine passion for developer education and helping technical users succeed.
