The Director, Technology leads the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning capabilities that enable business growth, operational efficiency, customer engagement, healthcare innovation, and data-driven decision-making across DU Tech.
This role provides leadership across multiple technology teams responsible for data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, machine learning, MLOps, AI platforms, data governance, and advanced analytical solutions.
The Director establishes technology strategy, operating models, roadmaps, delivery priorities, and platform investments while partnering with business, product, technology, security, and executive leaders to deliver measurable business outcomes through scalable and governed technology solutions.
DU Tech is looking for a Director, Technology to lead enterprise Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning technology capabilities.
This leadership role is responsible for defining strategy, building high-performing teams, and delivering scalable data and AI platforms that support business innovation, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings deep technology leadership experience, a strong understanding of modern data and AI ecosystems, and a proven ability to translate business priorities into technology-enabled outcomes that create measurable enterprise value.

Job Responsibilities
Delivery & Execution
• Lead strategy, roadmap, delivery, and operational excellence for enterprise data, analytics, AI, and machine learning technology capabilities.
• Oversee technology teams and programs across data engineering, analytics platforms, business intelligence, AI/ML platforms, MLOps, data governance, and advanced analytics enablement.
• Define data and AI platform architecture priorities, operating models, investment plans, and delivery approaches aligned to enterprise objectives.
• Partner with business, product, technology, security, privacy, and executive stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into scalable technology outcomes.
• Drive modernization of data platforms, cloud capabilities, analytics tooling, AI/ML delivery practices, and governed data product approaches.
• Establish standards for responsible AI, data governance, model operations, platform reliability, security, privacy, and measurable business impact.
• Manage portfolio priorities, resource plans, delivery risks, vendor partnerships, financial considerations, and operational performance across assigned areas.
• Identify opportunities to improve speed, quality, cost efficiency, reuse, reliability, and business value across data and AI technology capabilities.
Support & Enablement
• Lead, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and technical teams across global delivery locations.
• Build strong partnerships with senior business and technology leaders to align strategy, priorities, investment decisions, and delivery expectations.
• Communicate strategy, risks, progress, trade-offs, and impacts clearly to executive, technical, and business audiences.
• Create an inclusive, accountable, and high-performing team culture focused on innovation, learning, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes.
• Stay current on data, AI, ML, analytics, cloud, governance, and technology trends and apply them pragmatically where they create business value.
• Ensure teams operate with appropriate controls, documentation, compliance practices, delivery discipline, and stakeholder engagement.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline
• 10 or more years of relevant experience in technology leadership, data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, software engineering, enterprise architecture, or related technology domains
• Experience leading technology teams, managers, programs, or portfolios in a complex global organization
• Experience delivering data, analytics, AI/ML, cloud, platform, or enterprise technology capabilities at scale
• Experience partnering with business and technology executives to define strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver measurable outcomes
• Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, resource plans, delivery risks, operational metrics, or technology roadmaps
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex technology topics clearly
 Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
• Deep understanding of modern data platforms, lakehouse architecture, BI platforms, AI/ML platforms, MLOps, data governance, responsible AI, and cloud technologies
• Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, Power BI, machine learning platforms, or similar enterprise data and AI ecosystems
• Experience leading global teams, managed service partners, large-scale transformation programs, or enterprise platform modernization initiatives
• Experience in retail, pharmacy, healthcare, digital commerce, customer analytics, supply chain, finance, or large-scale enterprise technology is preferred
• Certifications or executive education in cloud, data, AI, analytics, cybersecurity, product management, or technology leadership are preferred
