Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company’s finance organization and provide comprehensive financial leadership across the business. The CFO will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop financial strategy, strengthen business performance, improve financial visibility, and support sustainable long-term growth.
This role requires a finance leader who can combine strategic thinking, financial expertise, operational discipline, and strong business judgment. The successful candidate will oversee core finance and accounting functions while providing meaningful insights that help leadership make informed decisions regarding growth, investments, resource allocation, and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and long-term business plans.
• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, scenario planning, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, treasury, and related finance activities.
• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, procedures, and governance practices.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, working capital, revenue, margins, operating expenses, and profitability.
• Analyze financial and operating results and provide executive leadership with clear, actionable business insights.
• Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs to improve performance visibility and accountability.
• Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on strategic planning, business investments, resource allocation, expansion initiatives, and other major decisions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Product, Customer Success, and other functional leaders to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop sophisticated financial models and business scenarios to support pricing, investment decisions, capital allocation, profitability analysis, and growth planning.
• Oversee the company’s financial systems, ERP environment, reporting infrastructure, and planning tools, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, accountants, tax advisors, banking partners, insurance providers, and other professional advisors.
• Support strategic transactions, including acquisitions, investments, partnerships, financing activities, and corporate development initiatives, as applicable.
• Evaluate financial risks and opportunities and establish appropriate processes to support effective risk management and business continuity.
• Lead improvements in financial planning, reporting, forecasting accuracy, cash management, and operational efficiency.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a strong finance and accounting organization.
• Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and professional development opportunities for finance team members.
• Prepare and present financial results, forecasts, business analysis, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, corporate finance, or related functions.
• Significant experience leading finance and accounting teams and overseeing company-wide financial operations.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial controls, corporate finance, and business analysis.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with CEOs, executive leadership teams, boards, investors, or other senior stakeholders, as applicable.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insights.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience improving finance processes, systems, reporting capabilities, and organizational efficiency.
• Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the ability to manage multiple strategic priorities.
• Experience working effectively within a remote or geographically distributed organization.
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA, MBA, or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a CFO, Deputy CFO, VP of Finance, SVP of Finance, Corporate Controller, or comparable senior finance executive.
• Experience supporting organizations through growth, restructuring, expansion, operational transformation, or other significant business changes.
• Experience in technology, SaaS, professional services, manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, or another complex business environment.
• Experience with ERP systems, FP&A platforms, business intelligence tools, financial reporting systems, and finance automation technologies.
• Experience supporting M&A, financing, strategic investments, or other corporate development activities.
• Experience building or scaling finance organizations and establishing standardized financial processes.
