About the role

Company Description The Global Forum on the Leadership of Women with Disabilities (GFLWD) is a global collective of established and emerging leaders with disabilities, built from decades of advocacy by people historically marginalized within disability and gender equality movements. The Forum provides an enabling platform that centers the experiences of women with disabilities, especially from the Global South and developing countries, and amplifies the leadership of Black and Indigenous women with disabilities. Supported by partners such as UNITAR, UN Women, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and the University of Tokyo KOMEX, GFLWD mobilizes a broad network of UN agencies, organizations of persons with disabilities, parliamentary groups, and leaders in the private sector and academia. This collective advances the full and meaningful participation of women with disabilities at local, national, regional, and global levels. GFLWD also generates knowledge and informs policy to ensure disability- and gender-sensitive approaches in everyday life and decision-making processes affecting women and girls with disabilities.
Role Description The VP of Leadership Development is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and refining leadership development strategies for women with disabilities across diverse regions and contexts. This role involves conducting needs analyses, consulting with stakeholders and partner organizations, and co-creating development pathways that reflect intersectional, rights-based, and culturally responsive approaches. The VP will oversee leadership training programs, mentorship initiatives, and succession planning processes, ensuring that emerging leaders have clear opportunities to grow into roles of influence in policy, advocacy, and organizational governance. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with global partners, managing program timelines and outcomes, curating learning content and resources, and monitoring and evaluating leadership initiatives for impact and continuous improvement. The VP will also contribute to strategic planning, represent GFLWD in international forums, and help elevate the voices and perspectives of women with disabilities in decision-making spaces.
