Caterlink - Assistant Chef

We are looking for an Apprentice Chef at Havant Academy, with the ability to work within the Portsmouth area who wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. We are looking for an organised, hard-working and passionate individual to ensure that the food quality, presentation and service are provided to the required standard. You should be passionate about delivering an efficient service to our students whilst ensuring we maintain great customer service and high food safety standards.
As part of your interview process, we will discuss with you the apprenticeship options available. We are actively looking for someone who is passionate about food and may not have started their journey yet within the industry, as long as they are committed and have an appetite to learn, this is the role for you.
As part of this role you will spend time on site with the catering team, but will also spend time with a number of our Development Chefs and Craft Trainers to ensure that you are given the support you need to succeed.
The role:
£12.71 per hour
Up to 30 hours per week working Monday – Friday
Term-time only – working 38 weeks per year
You will assist with all planning, preparing and cooking of meals to the required standard and you will ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers. Other tasks will include briefing kitchen teams on menus and service, ensuring all food safety and health and safety procedures are applied continuously and carry out company bookwork.
