Mechanical Testing Engineer
Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or higher
Experience: 2 years minimum
We are looking for a Mechanical Testing Engineer to join our testing laboratory in Coimbatore. The candidate will be involved in mechanical testing of metals and engineering materials in accordance with national and international test standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical testing such as:
Tensile Testing
Yield Strength / Ultimate Tensile Strength / Elongation determination
Hardness Testing
Bend Testing
Impact Testing
Other mechanical and material testing as required
Prepare and handle test specimens as per applicable standards.
Operate mechanical testing equipment and associated measuring instruments.
Understand and follow test methods based on ASTM, ISO, IS and other international standards.
Record test observations accurately and support preparation of test reports.
Verify equipment condition, calibration status and test setup before testing.
Maintain proper laboratory records and documentation.
Follow laboratory quality, safety and housekeeping requirements.
Coordinate with senior engineers and laboratory personnel for testing and technical activities.
Candidate Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or higher qualification.
Good understanding of basic mechanical engineering and material properties.
Knowledge of mechanical testing methods such as tensile testing and hardness testing.
Familiarity with ASTM, ISO and other international testing standards.
Ability to read and understand technical test procedures and engineering specifications.
Basic computer and documentation skills.
Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Knowledge or experience with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements will be an added advantage.
