Role Description Company Secretary-Trainee (Professional Programme completed) will support senior professionals in managing corporate secretarial and compliance activities on a full-time basis at the firm’s Chennai office. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with preparation and filing of statutory forms and returns, drafting board and general meeting notices, agendas, and minutes, and maintaining statutory registers and records. The trainee will help coordinate with clients on compliance timelines, collect required information and documentation, and support in corporate actions such as incorporation, changes in directors or capital structure, and annual filings. The role also involves researching updates in company law and related regulations, preparing summaries and internal notes, and contributing to documentation and checklists used by the team.
Qualifications
Completed the Company Secretary (CS) course from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Strong understanding of basic company law, corporate governance concepts, and statutory compliance requirements; ability to apply these in practical scenarios.
Proficiency in drafting formal documents such as notices, minutes, resolutions, letters, and reports with clear and accurate language.
Comfort with using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based compliance or e-filing systems; ability to manage and organize electronic records.
Good analytical and research skills, including the ability to interpret legal and regulatory updates and prepare concise summaries.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams, clients, and external authorities in a professional manner.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct, along with strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai, collaborate within a team, and take initiative while being receptive to guidance and feedback.
