Capgemini is seeking an experienced Workday Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Workday transformation initiatives across Human Capital Management (HCM), Finance, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Talent, Recruiting, Benefits, Learning, Integrations, Reporting, and Analytics. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, from strategy and planning through deployment, stabilization, and ongoing optimization.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of project management expertise, Workday functional knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and consulting experience. This individual will partner with client executives, business leaders, HR organizations, and technical teams to drive large-scale enterprise transformation programs while ensuring delivery excellence, quality, governance, and business value realization.
Project Managers are responsible for overseeing the project/engagement/contract/activity on a daily basis and are responsible for delivering high-quality results within the identified objectives and constraints, ensuring the effective use of the allocated resources. They are responsible for risk and issue management, project/engagement communication and stakeholder management. Project managers perform the activities of planning, organising, securing, monitoring and managing the resources and work necessary to deliver specific project goals and objectives in an effective and efficient way. Responsible for ensuring that client needs are satisfied through the formulation, development, implementation and delivery of application solutions in response to client requirements, expressed in approved service requests. PM are responsible for the overall projectorengagement plan, budget, structure, schedule and staffing requirements for the delivery organization. PM ensure that the project meets its deliverables in an agreed schedule, according to the scope, within stipulated budget, and to quality standards.
Your Role
Lead end-to-end Workday implementation, enhancement, optimization, migration, and Application Management Services (AMS) engagements.
Manage project scope, budget, resource planning, timelines, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and change control processes.
Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, executive sponsors, and delivery teams throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Develop and manage project plans, work breakdown structures, staffing models, milestones, status reporting, and governance frameworks.
Coordinate cross-functional Workday teams including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Learning, Compensation, Finance, Integrations, Reporting, Security, and Data Conversion workstreams.
Facilitate discovery sessions, design workshops, solution reviews, conference room pilots, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment readiness assessments.
Drive alignment between business requirements, Workday leading practices, and organizational transformation objectives.
Lead project governance meetings, steering committee reviews, executive status updates, and stakeholder communications.
Monitor project health through KPIs, delivery metrics, RAID logs, quality reviews, and financial management reporting.
Manage client expectations, resolve escalations, and proactively identify risks and mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with Workday release management processes, testing requirements, and organizational governance standards.
Collaborate with integration, reporting, security, change management, and training teams to ensure successful adoption and business readiness.
Support organizational change management efforts, communications planning, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for process optimization and business value realization.
Mentor project team members and promote delivery excellence, collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, automation, and analytics capabilities, to enhance project delivery and operational efficiencies.
Your Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
8+ years of project management experience leading enterprise software or cloud transformation programs.
5+ years of experience managing Workday implementation, deployment, enhancement, or AMS engagements.
Demonstrated success delivering large-scale Workday HCM, Payroll, Finance, or multi-module transformation programs.
Strong understanding of Workday architecture, implementation methodology, tenant strategy, and deployment lifecycle.
Experience managing projects involving Workday HCM, Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Benefits, Learning, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Finance, Prism Analytics, Reporting, Integrations, and Security.
Strong understanding of HR, Finance, Payroll, Talent Management, and business process transformation initiatives.
Experience managing global or multi-country Workday deployments.
Proven expertise in project governance, executive reporting, stakeholder management, budget management, forecasting, and resource planning.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid, or PMI-based project management methodologies.
Strong knowledge of project management tools, documentation standards, and delivery frameworks.
Experience facilitating workshops, requirements gathering sessions, testing activities, and deployment planning.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
Experience collaborating with offshore, nearshore, and geographically dispersed delivery teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Experience utilizing AI, Generative AI, automation, or analytics solutions to improve project delivery, workforce productivity, or operational effectiveness. (preferred)
PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent project management certification.
