Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Facade Designer role based in Mumbai. The Facade Designer will develop detailed facade concepts and translate them into technical drawings and specifications for cladding, glazing, and related systems. Day-to-day tasks include preparing shop drawings, coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors, reviewing design feasibility, and ensuring compliance with project standards and local regulations. The role involves selecting materials, refining design details, supporting site teams with technical clarifications, and updating documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The Facade Designer will also participate in design reviews, contribute to value engineering, and help maintain quality and consistency across all facade deliverables.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in facade design, including experience with Facade and Facade Design for commercial and residential projects.
Candidates should possess expertise in external envelope systems, including Cladding and Glazing design, detailing, and material selection.
Candidates should possess proficiency in preparing and interpreting Shop Drawings, with the ability to coordinate details across disciplines.
Candidates should possess relevant CAD/BIM skills (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools) for technical drafting and 3D visualization.
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of structural principles, building codes, and facade performance requirements (thermal, acoustic, and weatherproofing).
Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a project team.
A diploma or degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in facade or building envelope design is an advantage.
