Job Title: Volunteer Mentor – Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML)

Job Summary
SURE Trust invites experienced AI & ML professionals to volunteer as mentors for its 6-Month, Project-Based and AI-Augmented Internship in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning.
The mentor will guide aspiring engineers through industry-relevant AI & ML concepts, hands-on projects, and real-world applications, helping them develop the technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and professional competencies required for successful careers.
This role supports SURE Trust's mission of providing free, quality, industry-oriented education and employment opportunities to deserving youth, particularly those from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Success in this role means enabling interns to independently design, develop, evaluate, and deploy AI & ML solutions, successfully complete their capstone projects, and become industry-ready professionals.
Responsibilities
Deliver interactive online mentoring sessions covering Python, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and industry-relevant AI applications.
Guide interns through a structured six-month curriculum emphasizing practical learning and real-world projects.
Train students in data preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, optimization, and deployment.
Introduce AI-augmented development practices, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted coding, responsible AI, and modern AI tools.
Mentor students in developing mini-projects and industry-oriented capstone projects.
Conduct regular project reviews, technical assessments, code reviews, and performance evaluations.
Encourage independent problem-solving, innovation, teamwork, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.
Provide career guidance and help interns prepare for technical interviews and industry expectations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Preferably 3+ years of professional experience in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related technologies.
Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and relevant AI frameworks.
Practical experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-based application development.
Experience with real-world AI projects, model deployment, MLOps, or cloud-based AI platforms is desirable.
Excellent communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
A genuine passion for teaching, knowledge sharing, and empowering deserving youth.
Time Commitment
Volunteer opportunity
One hour per day, Monday to Saturday, between 7:00 PM and 10:30 PM IST, based on mutually agreed schedules. All mentoring sessions are conducted online.
