About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Note: This is a 1-month paid internship. Once you apply, we will share a short design assignment with you. The assignment will be a key deciding factor in determining the next steps in the selection process.
Portfolio
Please share your portfolio, Behance, Dribbble, Figma projects or previous UI/UX work.

Student and concept projects are absolutely welcome. We’re more interested in how you think, solve problems and arrive at your design decisions than the number of projects you have completed.
About Trrip
Trrip is a post-booking travel experience platform designed to make a traveller’s on-trip journey easier, clearer and more enjoyable.
Through the Trrip app, travellers can access their itinerary, booking information, travel details, destination recommendations, restaurants, activities, shopping and other relevant information during their trip.
About the Role
We’re looking for a UI/UX Design Intern to help us design and improve the Trrip traveller experience.
You’ll work on real product experiences—from understanding user problems and mapping journeys to creating wireframes, UI designs and prototypes in Figma.
Key Responsibilities
UI Design
Design and redesign mobile/web screens with a clean, modern and traveller-friendly approach.
Improve layouts, typography, spacing, visual hierarchy, cards, icons and CTAs.
Create reusable components and maintain design consistency through Figma design systems.
Design responsive experiences across different screen sizes.
Work on destination, restaurant, activity and shopping discovery experiences.
UX Design
Analyse user journeys and identify usability and navigation issues.
Improve information architecture and simplify complex information.
Design user flows, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
Improve search, filtering, sorting, recommendations and discovery experiences.
Design detail pages, CTAs, empty states, loading states, errors and other edge cases.
Reduce unnecessary clicks and friction across key traveller journeys.
Think Like a Traveller
You’ll be expected to think beyond how a screen looks and ask:
What does the traveller need to know first?
How can they find what they need faster?
What information will help them make a decision?
Where might they get confused?
How can we make the experience feel modern, trustworthy and intuitive?
For example, if a traveller in Bali is looking for a restaurant at 8 PM, the experience should help them quickly understand location, distance, cuisine, pricing, opening hours, suitability, reviews, Trrip benefits and how to get there.
What We’re Looking For
Strong working knowledge of Figma.
Good understanding of mobile UI/UX fundamentals.
Strong visual design sense and understanding of typography, spacing, colour and hierarchy.
Understanding of user flows and information architecture.
Ability to create components and reusable design systems.
Ability to explain the reasoning behind design decisions.
Willingness to take feedback and iterate quickly.
A user-first and problem-solving mindset.
Experience is not the most important factor. We value your ability to observe problems, question existing designs, simplify information and think logically about the user experience.
Tools
Required: Figma, FigJam
Good to have: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Framer, prototyping tools and AI-assisted design tools.
What You’ll Learn
Consumer travel-product UX
Marketplace and discovery UX
Mobile product design
Design systems and reusable components
User journey mapping
Product thinking
Real-world usability challenges
Designing features that move from concept to development
If you love turning complicated user experiences into simple, intuitive designs, we’d love to hear from you.
