Role Description The CNC VMC Programmer will be responsible for programming and operating Vertical Machining Centers to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include creating and optimizing CNC programs, selecting tools and cutting parameters, setting up machines, and performing first-off inspections to validate part accuracy. The role involves collaborating with production, quality, and design teams to resolve machining issues, improve cycle times, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. The programmer will maintain documentation related to programs, setups, and revisions, and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru.
Qualifications
Strong ability to program and operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) using common CAM or controller interfaces.
Sound understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and fixture design for precision manufacturing.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
Experience with dimensional inspection using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
Familiarity with standard shop-floor safety practices, machine maintenance basics, and production documentation.
Ability to troubleshoot machining problems, optimize cycle times, and improve process reliability.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams.
Relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related field; prior experience in CNC VMC programming in a manufacturing setup is highly desirable.
