Role Description This full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher role is based in the Greater Agra Area. The Special Education Teacher will design and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs), adapting curriculum and classroom activities to meet the needs of learners with various disabilities. Daily responsibilities include planning and teaching lessons, providing academic and behavioral support, and using appropriate assessments to track student progress. The role involves collaborating with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff, as well as maintaining clear communication with families about learner goals and achievements. The teacher will also participate in school meetings, contribute to intervention planning, maintain accurate documentation, and engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications
Understanding of disabilities and diverse learning needs, with experience designing accommodations and interventions.
Strong teaching skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment, preferably in inclusive or special education settings.
Experience working with middle school learners or similar age groups, with the ability to adapt instruction to developmental levels.
Special Education expertise, including developing IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and applying relevant educational frameworks.
Effective communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues, including clear written documentation and professional interpersonal skills.
Relevant degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field; specialized certification in special education is highly preferred.
Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies, behavior support techniques, and inclusive education practices.
Ability to work on-site in the Greater Agra Area, demonstrating adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to equity in education.
