About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Agriculture Field Associate to support our organic farming, spice, herb, and NTFP (Non-Timber Forest Produce) initiatives in Gumla and surrounding areas. The position is ideal for fresh graduates or diploma holders who are passionate about sustainable agriculture, organic farming, rural development, and farmer engagement.
The selected candidate will work closely with local farmers, NTFP collectors, field supervisors, and the company's technical team to strengthen organic production systems and improve raw material sourcing from the region.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the promotion and implementation of organic farming practices among farmers and collectors.
Support cultivation and production activities related to organic spices, medicinal plants, and herbs.
Coordinate with NTFP collectors and village-level stakeholders for collection, aggregation, and primary processing activities.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor crop progress, farmer participation, and compliance with project requirements.
Assist in farmer training programs, awareness campaigns, and demonstration activities.
Maintain field records, crop data, collection data, and daily activity reports.
Support nursery development, plantation activities, and crop management operations.
Assist in implementing quality, traceability, and organic certification requirements.
Coordinate with field supervisors and management for timely execution of field activities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities and producer groups.
Eligibility
Fresh Graduate or Diploma Holder in:
Agriculture
Horticulture
Forestry
Agricultural Extension
Rural Development or related disciplines
Basic knowledge of organic farming and crop production will be an advantage.
Desired Skills
Willingness to work extensively in rural and field conditions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage with farmers, tribal communities, and NTFP collectors.
Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
Knowledge of local languages and dialects will be an added advantage.
Preference
Candidates from Gumla, Lohardaga, Simdega, Ranchi, or nearby districts of Jharkhand will be preferred.
