Role Description The ISM role at Birla Opus is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The individual in this role is responsible for driving sales and market development for Birla Opus products within assigned territories, engaging with dealers, distributors, and institutional clients to achieve business targets. Day-to-day activities include managing channel relationships, executing sales plans, monitoring market trends, and ensuring product availability and visibility at key outlets. The role involves regular field visits, collecting market feedback, coordinating with internal teams on pricing, promotions, and supply, and preparing reports on sales performance and competitor activity. The ISM collaborates closely with marketing and operations to support new product launches, customer education initiatives, and service quality improvements.
Qualifications
Strong sales and business development skills, with experience in channel management and territory planning.
Knowledge of paints, building materials, or related consumer/industrial products, including understanding of product categories and customer segments.
Ability to analyze market data, prepare performance reports, and use insights to support decision-making and sales strategies.
Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills for working with dealers, distributors, and institutional clients.
Proficiency in basic office productivity tools (such as spreadsheets, presentations, and CRM or sales tracking systems).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
Proven experience in field sales or key account management, preferably within the paints, construction, or FMCG sectors.
Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, travel within assigned territories, and adapt to a dynamic, target-driven environment.
