Scientific & Laboratory Software Implementations
Remote | Eastern or Central Time Zones | Approximately 25–30% Travel
This is not a traditional software Program Manager opening.
We are looking for someone who understands what it means to implement technology inside a scientific or laboratory environment.
You may have worked in life sciences, clinical laboratories, public health, environmental testing, pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, or another scientific setting. You understand that implementing software in these environments requires more than managing a project plan. The workflows, data, regulatory requirements, users, and operational impact all matter.
The right person brings two sides of their career together:
Scientific or laboratory domain experience + enterprise software implementation leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
You will lead complex customer-facing software implementation programs from planning through delivery, working directly with customer stakeholders, internal technical teams, and senior leadership.
You'll be responsible for:
• Leading multiple complex enterprise software or SaaS implementations
• Working directly with laboratory, scientific, technical, and business stakeholders
• Building implementation plans, governance, milestones, dependencies, and risk management strategies
• Translating customer requirements into executable implementation plans
• Leading executive-level customer conversations and steering meetings
• Coordinating Product, Engineering, Implementation, Operations, and other internal teams
• Identifying risks early and driving issues toward resolution
• Managing scope, timelines, resources, dependencies, and customer expectations
• Helping customers navigate the operational and organizational change that comes with implementing new technology
• Building strong relationships that allow you to become a trusted partner to the customer, not simply the person managing the project plan
The Background We're Looking For
The most important requirement is experience working within scientific, life sciences, or laboratory environments.
We are particularly interested in backgrounds involving:
• LIMS, LIS, laboratory informatics, or scientific software
• Clinical or diagnostic laboratories
• Life sciences or biotechnology
• Pharmaceutical environments
• Environmental or water testing laboratories
• Public health laboratories
• Other regulated scientific environments
In addition, you should bring:
• Significant Program Management experience
• Experience leading enterprise software, SaaS, or technology implementations
• Direct customer-facing implementation experience
• Experience communicating with senior and executive-level customer stakeholders
• Strong cross-functional leadership
• Experience operating in regulated environments
• PMP or a recognized Agile/Scrum certification such as PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM, SAFe, or similar
What Will Make Someone Stand Out
We're looking for someone who can talk comfortably with a laboratory leader about their operation, turn around and work with a technical team on implementation requirements, and then communicate clearly with an executive about progress, risk, and business impact.
You don't need to be the person writing the code.
You do need to understand the environment where the technology is being implemented and have the Program Management experience to successfully lead customers through it.
