Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Solution Architect to lead a team of functional consultants across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), Supply Chain Management, Finance, and Microsoft Power Platform, while serving as the primary solution architect for enterprise business applications.
This is a highly visible role combining people leadership, D365 solution architecture, functional ERP expertise, enterprise integrations, and program delivery. The successful candidate will provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership, partnering closely with the Director of IT Applications and business stakeholders to define the application roadmap, architect scalable solutions, and drive continuous improvement across the D365 F&O environment.
The ideal candidate brings broad knowledge across D365 Finance and Supply Chain, understands how enterprise applications and integrations work together, and has experience leading functional teams through complex ERP implementations, enhancements, and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of D365 functional consultants supporting Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Microsoft Power Platform.
Establish team priorities, performance goals, and professional development plans.
Provide functional and technical guidance to consultants and business analysts.
Drive successful project delivery while maintaining alignment with business priorities and enterprise technology strategy.
Manage resource planning, workload balancing, and project assignments across the team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
D365 F&O Solution Architecture
Serve as the lead solution architect for enterprise applications centered around Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
Design scalable, secure, and sustainable business solutions supporting:

Lead fit-gap analysis and determine the appropriate use of configuration, customization, integration, or business process changes.
Develop solution architecture diagrams, integration architecture documentation, data flows, environment strategies, and application roadmaps.
Establish and govern application architecture standards and lead solution design reviews.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, scalability, and supportability requirements.
D365 Functional Leadership
Provide functional leadership and direction across key D365 capabilities, including:

Enterprise Integration Architecture
Architect and oversee integrations between D365 F&O and critical third-party enterprise applications, including banking platforms, Coupa, Flintfox, Odyssey Logistics, Workday, and other business systems.
Define appropriate API, middleware, and enterprise integration patterns.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, development, and enterprise architecture teams on solution design.
Ensure integrations meet requirements for reliability, scalability, security, monitoring, and supportability.
Support enterprise data strategy, data migration, interoperability, and master data management initiatives.
Troubleshoot complex cross-application and integration issues as needed.
DevOps, Release Management & Environment Governance
Own the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) strategy for the D365 F&O environment.
Establish and govern Azure DevOps processes supporting work item management, sprint planning, source control, release management, and change management.
Oversee deployment pipelines across Development, Test, and Production environments.
Coordinate application releases with business stakeholders, functional teams, developers, and other technical teams.
Establish deployment standards, rollback procedures, release documentation, and deployment readiness reviews.
Ensure appropriate governance and controls are maintained across D365 environments.
Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner closely with the Director of IT Applications to define the enterprise applications strategy and technology roadmap.
Identify opportunities to improve business processes through D365, Power Platform, automation, integrations, and emerging Microsoft capabilities.
Evaluate new Microsoft technologies and determine their potential business value.
Present solution strategies, recommendations, tradeoffs, and roadmaps to executive leadership and business stakeholders.
Serve as a trusted technology advisor for major business transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Build strong relationships across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, IT, and other business functions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
10+ years of ERP experience, including at least 5+ years focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
5+ years of leadership experience managing functional consultants, business applications teams, or similar ERP resources.
Strong hands-on configuration and functional experience across D365 Finance and D365 Supply Chain Management.
Demonstrated experience serving in a D365 solution architecture or enterprise application architecture capacity.
Experience leading enterprise-scale ERP implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
Strong experience integrating D365 F&O with third-party enterprise applications.
Proven experience with Azure DevOps, Application Lifecycle Management, deployment processes, and ERP release management.
Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, middleware, and data flows.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions and architecture.
Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Solution Architect certification.
Additional Microsoft certifications related to D365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, Power Platform, or Azure.
Experience with enterprise platforms such as Coupa, Flintfox, Workday, banking integrations, and logistics systems.
Experience developing enterprise application roadmaps and application governance standards.
Experience supporting organizations through large-scale business and digital transformation initiatives.
Success Profile
The successful candidate will combine D365 F&O functional depth, solution architecture expertise, and strong people leadership. This individual should be comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on problem solving—whether defining the long-term D365 roadmap, reviewing a solution architecture, guiding a functional consultant, resolving an integration challenge, or presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
This is not solely a people-management position or a high-level architecture role. The ideal candidate has enough hands-on D365 Finance and Supply Chain experience to provide meaningful technical and functional direction while building and leading a strong enterprise applications team.
Success will require someone who can bridge business strategy, ERP functionality, and technical architecture, establishing scalable solutions and standards while continuously improving how the organization uses D365 and the broader Microsoft ecosystem.
