Adaptive Behavioral Services is seeking an experienced West Virginia-licensed Nurse Practitioner to join our growing telehealth program.
This position will primarily provide medication management and treatment to adults with opioid use disorder (OUD), including patients receiving buprenorphine-based treatment when clinically appropriate.
We provide extensive administrative support so our clinicians can focus primarily on patient care rather than paperwork and routine administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
Active and unrestricted West Virginia APRN/Nurse Practitioner license
Current West Virginia Medicaid enrollment as a billing/rendering provider
Current participation with Wellpoint West Virginia Medicaid
Active individual NPI
Current CAQH profile
Appropriate DEA registration and West Virginia prescribing authority for the services provided
Ability and willingness to evaluate and treat patients with opioid use disorder
Ability and willingness to prescribe buprenorphine when clinically appropriate and within the provider’s scope of practice
Ability to provide care through telehealth
Reliable weekday availability
Important: This position is intended for a provider who is already actively enrolled with West Virginia Medicaid. Current Wellpoint West Virginia Medicaid participation is also required because we are seeking a provider who can move through our organizational onboarding and payer-affiliation process as efficiently as possible.
Existing enrollment or participation will be verified as part of onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who are already participating with additional West Virginia Medicaid managed-care organizations and/or have experience with:
Medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD)
Buprenorphine treatment
Substance use disorder treatment
Behavioral health or psychiatry
Telemedicine
Medicaid populations
Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner will conduct scheduled telehealth appointments with new and established patients.
Clinical responsibilities include:
Conducting appropriate clinical assessments
Evaluating patients for opioid use disorder treatment
Prescribing and managing buprenorphine when clinically appropriate
Medication management
Treatment planning
Monitoring patient progress
Coordinating care with our behavioral health and support teams
Completing required clinical documentation
All clinical decisions remain the responsibility of the treating provider and must be made according to the provider’s independent professional judgment and applicable standards of care.
Administrative Support
Our support team assists providers with:
Patient scheduling
Intake coordination
Routine patient communication
Pharmacy coordination
Insurance and demographic information
Documentation support
Follow-up coordination
Our goal is simple: allow our providers to spend their scheduled clinical time taking care of patients rather than handling unnecessary administrative work.
Compensation & Schedule
Compensation: $115/hour
Position: 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: 100% Remote
Schedule: Flexible weekday availability
Typical shift: 4–6 hours
Additional hours may become available as patient volume grows.
