About the Company
We are a premier, Texas-based fire protection engineering consultancy known for technical excellence, outstanding workplace culture, and market-leading flexibility. Our firm handles a diverse and complex project portfolio—ranging from large-scale commercial developments and industrial facilities to high-rise structures, healthcare campuses, and specialized high-hazard environments.
Our client pride themselves on providing their team with an exceptional work-life balance, highlighted by a standard 4-day work week and a trust-based, fully remote environment.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer who can step in and hit the ground running. In this role, you will work independently to produce accurate, code-compliant 3D sprinkler system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and submittal packages for a wide variety of project types across Texas, Florida and nationwide.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically sharp, and capable of managing their own project workflows from initial design through final plan approval.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Layout: Develop detailed 3D fire sprinkler layouts, riser diagrams, and fabrication drawings for wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems using industry-standard design software.
Hydraulic Calculations: Perform fast, precise hydraulic calculations and water supply analyses to ensure optimal system performance and code compliance.
Stocklisting & Submittals: Generate accurate material stock lists and assemble complete submittal packages for clients and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
BIM / Trade Coordination: Coordinate spatial layouts with architectural, structural, and MEP designs to resolve field clashes prior to fabrication.
Code Compliance: Apply a strong working knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 13, 13R, 14, 20, etc.) and local building/fire codes to all drawing packages.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of dedicated fire sprinkler design experience; must be able to work independently with minimal oversight.
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, AutoCAD Fire Grid, or equivalent design software.
Certifications: NICET Level II (or higher) in Water-Based Systems Layout is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience and proven design capability will be strongly considered.
Work Ethic: Strong time-management skills, high attention to detail, and the self-discipline to excel in a fully remote setup.
What We Offer
4-Day Work Week: Work hard Monday through Thursday and enjoy a 3-day weekend every week.
100% Remote Flexibility: Work from home with top-tier hardware and software provided.
Competitive Compensation: Highly competitive salary benchmarked to your experience and skills.
Comprehensive Benefits: Full health, dental, and vision insurance options, matching 401(k), paid holidays, and PTO.
Professional Support: Full backing for NICET testing fees, continuing education, and career advancement.
