CMK Resources is seeking an experienced OpenShift / Portworx Platform Engineer to support our partner within a complex enterprise Kubernetes and OpenShift environment.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on OpenShift/Kubernetes platform engineering, cluster builds, migrations, storage, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have strong Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Linux experience, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the platform, infrastructure, and storage layers.
What You Will Be Doing
Support the design, build, configuration, and ongoing operation of enterprise OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters.
Support Kubernetes and OpenShift platform and workload migrations.
Assist with new cluster builds, configuration, validation, and production readiness.
Support migrations involving virtual machines and containerized workloads.
Help define storage requirements and capacity needs for Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
Support and troubleshoot Kubernetes persistent storage, workload build-out, and data movement.
Troubleshoot issues across OpenShift/Kubernetes, Linux, storage, networking, and application layers.
Support Portworx Enterprise environments, including storage configuration, capacity, performance, and troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot Kubernetes components including pods, nodes, deployments, StatefulSets, networking, storage, and cluster services.
Perform hands-on Linux troubleshooting across Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu environments.
Identify root causes of complex infrastructure issues and collaborate across technical teams to drive resolution.
Create and maintain technical documentation, migration procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
Strong hands-on Red Hat OpenShift experience.
Strong Kubernetes administration, operations, and troubleshooting experience.
Experience supporting Kubernetes and/or OpenShift migrations.
Experience building, deploying, or supporting new Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including pods, nodes, deployments, StatefulSets, namespaces, services, networking, and storage.
Strong Kubernetes troubleshooting skills within enterprise production environments.
Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
Understanding of Kubernetes persistent storage concepts, including CSI, persistent volumes (PV), persistent volume claims (PVC), and StorageClasses.
Experience troubleshooting complex issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, and storage.
Ability to perform root cause analysis and work collaboratively across multiple technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on Portworx Enterprise (PX Enterprise) experience.
Experience administering or troubleshooting Portworx storage within Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
Experience with enterprise storage platforms.
Experience with storage capacity planning and large-scale data movement.
Experience migrating workloads between virtualization and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
KubeVirt or OpenShift Virtualization experience, including building new VMs and/or migrating existing VMs into OpenShift.
Spectro Cloud experience.
Experience with Kubernetes MaaS environments.
Experience with dual-stack networking and IPv6.
AWS experience.
Experience supporting Kafka and/or Elasticsearch.
