Mission Of Role/Position Summary
This position will provide Salesforce development support for the DEMES platform, including solution development, system enhancements, automation, integration support, defect resolution, testing and deployment, technical debt remediation, and ongoing platform maintenance. The position will support both day-to-day operational needs and continued modernization and expansion of the DEMES Salesforce environment.
Tasks, Duties, And Responsibilities

Design, configure, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions supporting the FDEM DEMES platform.
Build and maintain Salesforce automation using Flow, Flow Orchestration, validation rules, approval processes, and other native platform capabilities.
Configure and enhance Salesforce objects, fields, record types, page layouts, Lightning record pages, Path, permission sets, permission set groups, sharing settings, and other security controls.
Develop and maintain solutions supporting complex business processes, including case and incident management, service level management, approval routing, grants management, and other emergency management workflows.
Support Salesforce Service Cloud (case management, Knowledge, Entitlements and Milestones), Experience Cloud portals, Public Sector Solutions, and related platform functionality.
Configure, support, and test Salesforce integrations with third-party and enterprise systems, including field mapping specifications, sync design, and cross-system workflows.
Read and troubleshoot Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC), partnering with developers on more complex custom development.
Use SOQL, reporting, and Salesforce data modeling techniques to support application functionality, reporting, data migration, and data management requirements.
Support deployments across development, QA, UAT, and production environments using Salesforce CLI, Git and other comparable release management tools.
Plan and execute testing, including test case design, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), end-to-end, and integration testing; triage and resolve defects.
Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, configuration issues, integration issues, and production support requests.
Lead or participate in discovery sessions, requirements gathering, and process mapping, and translate stakeholder and business requirements into Salesforce solutions.
Present solutions and progress to client leadership and stakeholders through demonstrations and walkthroughs.
Identify opportunities to modernize existing configurations, reduce technical debt, and improve platform maintainability and scalability.
Develop and maintain requirements, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment documentation.
Collaborate with the Salesforce Architect, project leadership, technical team members, and business stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture, development standards, data models, security, automation, and integration capabilities.
Proficiency with Salesforce Flow and declarative configuration; working knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and Salesforce APIs.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, version control, testing, and deployment practices.
Ability to translate business and functional requirements into scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions.
Ability to independently develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, and deploy moderately complex Salesforce applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose technical issues and identify practical solutions.
Ability to evaluate technical alternatives with consideration for performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, administrators, project managers, business analysts, and end users.
Ability to coordinate workstreams or small teams, such as testing teams, with senior-level support.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated commitment to code quality, documentation, testing, and continuous improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May have lead responsibilities within projects or small teams depending on function with senior level support.
Expected Hours Of Work
Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements
Up to 25% travel is expected for this position.
Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands
Mobility required on-site with clients.
Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
Ability to manipulate up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
Working Environment
Emergency management personnel may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Requirements
Experience/Education Required:
Minimum 3 years of professional experience implementing, configuring, developing, or supporting Salesforce solutions.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce configuration and automation, including Flow, Lightning App Builder, validation rules, approval processes, data modeling, and security/permissions.
3-5 year of experience with Salesforce CLI, Gearset, Metadata API, or comparable Salesforce deployment and release tools.
3-5 years of experience supporting Salesforce solution delivery, testing, UAT, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
3-5 years of experience translating business requirements into Salesforce configurations or technical solutions.
Salesforce Platform Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, or comparable Salesforce certification.
Experience/Education Preferred
