The Creative Director sets the brand and creative direction for Egnyte and is accountable for the quality of what we produce across all channels and launches. This is a hands-on, highly visible role. You will lead an in-house team of designers and bring in external contractors as needed, but you will also design and produce work yourself. Success takes both strong creative judgment and the ability to partner closely with teams across marketing, sales, and product to turn their goals into deliverables that represent the brand at its best.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
● Responsible for the look and feel of the Egnyte brand and make sure it holds up across all touchpoints.
● Manage and develop a small in-house creative team, and bring in freelancers and agencies when we need extra capacity or a skill we don't have.
● Do design work yourself. This is a working role — you will set direction and produce finished work.
● Run the creative request process end to end: take in requests, decide what gets done and when, set realistic dates, and keep people informed.
● Review the team's design and give clear, specific feedback that improves the work and keeps it consistent with our brand.
● Design for both print and digital — ads, social posts, email, presentations, eBooks and guides, video, and event graphics.
● Keep brand guidelines, templates, and source files current so the rest of the company can make on-brand materials.
● Manage creative vendors, scope the work, and track spending against budget.
● Present work to marketing leadership and executives, get decisions made, and keep projects from stalling in review.
● Report to the Senior Director of Brand Marketing.
● Travel a few times a year for company events such as sales kickoff.
● Work a hybrid schedule from one of our U.S. offices, with in-office days set by the team.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
● Eight or more years of design experience in-house or at an agency, including at least three years managing designers. B2B technology or software experience preferred.
● A portfolio that shows strong, finished work across both print and digital.
● Experience hiring and managing freelancers and agencies — scoping work, setting budgets, and holding vendors to deadlines.
● A track record of running several projects at once, setting priorities when requests outnumber people, and delivering on time.
● Clear, direct communication. You can explain creative decisions to people who are not designers, and you can take feedback as well as give it.
● Expert in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
● Comfortable designing for the web and handing off files that developers can build from.
● Experience with a project management tool such as Asana. Motion graphics or video editing is a plus.
COMPENSATION:
● Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $170k - $220k annually as well as bonus. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
